Week 1 - Time to get resolving!

I'm excited for this class!  Oh, I should probably mention it's name, right?  Conflict Resolution and negotiation.  It probably sounds dorky, but I was excited for this class when I looked at my class plan when I was signing up for the program.  From October 2017 through February 2019, I had a co-worker who was just a giant source of aggravation and frustration.  I was really looking forward to this class to try and learn ways to deal with her, especially since it looked like I was going to end up being her manager.  Fortunately for the team, she quit two weeks ago.  That's made life WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY easier, but it's not all roses.  I'm still hoping that I'll learn a bunch of skills in this class that will help me in my day to day business life and maybe my personal life as well.

The case studies look awesome.  I love case studies because I think it's one of the best ways to learn.  You have to apply the book theory to the real world.  I'm glad Centenary puts so much emphasis on that in the curriculum.  I'm also really stoked to write about the strike for the final paper.  Strikes are fascinating social events.  This should be a good way to learn more about the inner workings of a strike.

My last class was Quantitative Analysis.  Doing weekly discussions on that was really tough because it's ultimately just math.  I think the discussions here should be much more lively as this is a social science.

I imagine I'll post in here way more than the required amounts.  I like to write.  If you'd like to read my Leadership blog, you can find it here:  https://steveoleadership.blogspot.com/2018/08/in-beginning.html.  I thought I'd give this one a unique look.  I'm sure I'll tie the two together as I move through this and learn more.
